FCC Youth Commitment and Waiver 2023-2024

YOUTH GROUP COMMITMENT

Our goal is that FCC Youth is a welcoming and supportive community to all students where they can build relationships with one another and challenge how they think about God, themselves, and the world around them. The FCC youth leaders commit to provide a safe space for all students and leaders to build community and grow in their faith. The following is a covenant that we agree to uphold together.

To care for the FCC youth community, myself, and my growth in faith, I commit to:

*Respect myself by being present and participating:
-Remain with the group unless I let a leader know I need to leave the area.
-In addition to being physically present I am committing to be mentally present.
-Help others to participate not distract, discourage, or hinder others from participating.
-Follow the directions of youth leaders concerning technology.

*Respect others with my language and actions:
-Use language that builds others up and avoid teasing, putting others down, inappropriate or sexual jokes or language or comments, gossiping, or talking over peers.
-Refrain from using gestures or touching participants in ways that make them uncomfortable, including gestures which may be perceived as sexual or rough housing in nature.
-Not to engage in reckless or unsafe behavior that could result in injuring myself or others. This includes but is not limited to chasing someone (outside of a game organized by the youth leaders), pushing, hitting, kicking, punching, biting, pinching, or doing anything that puts myself or others in danger.
-Not to bring any weapons, explosive devices, drugs, alcohol, tobacco or vaping products.

*Unsafe behavior will result in an immediate phone call to my parents and I will not be allowed to attend any youth events for one to two weeks depending on the severity of the situation.

*Respect the Property:
-Cleaning-up after myself and others
-Not damaging property
-Not taking supplies that I have not been given permission to use

Consequences:
1- Verbal warning.
2- My parent/guardian is notified.
3- I must be picked up and am not allowed to attend youth events for one week.
